TYPES OF DATA PROCESSED

Browsing data

The computer systems and the software procedures used to operate this website acquire certain personal data during normal operation, the transmission of which is implicit in the use of Internet communication protocols.

This information is not collected for its association with the data subjects identified but may, by its nature, including through processing and association with data held by third parties, enable identification of the user.

This category of data includes IP addresses or domain names of the computers used by users who connect to the site, URI (Uniform Resource Identifier) addresses of the resources requested, the time of the request, the method used to submit the request to the server, the size of the file obtained in response, the numerical code indicating the status of the response given by the server (successful, error, etc.) and other parameters relating to the user’s operating system and computer environment.

These data are used solely for the purpose of obtaining anonymous statistical information on use of the website and to check its correct functioning, and are deleted immediately after processing. This data could be used to ascertain responsibility in the event of hypothetical computer crimes against the website.

The legal basis for such processing is the legitimate interest of the Data Controller in the technical management related to the operation and security of the Website.

Data provided voluntarily by the user

The optional, explicit and voluntary sending of e-mails to the addresses indicated on this website entails the subsequent acquisition of the sender's address, needed to respond to requests, as well as any other personal data included in the message.

Specific summary information will be progressively reported or displayed on the pages of the website provided for specific, requested services.

Cookies

Like virtually all websites, our website also uses cookies. Cookies are small text files that the sites visited by a user (but also other sites or webservers) send and record on his/her computer (or mobile device), to be retransmitted to the same sites (or webservers) the next time they are visited, thereby sending information.

Cookies are now essential tools since they allow modern websites to function at their best, allowing for maximum customisation, interaction and smooth browsing. But they can also be used to monitor the user's browsing history so as to subsequently send advertising messages in line with the user’s interests.

Cookies may be:

  • session cookies (which expire when the browser is closed) or permanent (they remain for a certain period of time, even years);
  • first party or third party cookies (in the latter case they are imposed by a site or a webserver different from that currently visited by the user);
  • technical cookies (necessary, sometimes essential, for a complete - or better - use of the website) or profiling cookies (aimed at creating a profile of the user, to subsequently send him/her advertising messages in line with the preferences expressed during prior browsing).

The Italian Data Protection Authority considers technical cookies to be session cookies, functional cookies and - only under certain conditions - analytical cookies; in particular in the ruling dated 8 May 2014 the Italian Data Protection Authority specified that the latter can be assimilated to technical cookies only if used for site optimisation purposes directly by the owner of the site, which may collect information in an aggregate manner on the number of users and how they visit the site.

For further information on types of cookies, the characteristics of the same and how they work, see the following websites  http://www.allaboutcookies.orgwww.youronlinechoices.com,  http://cookiepedia.co.uk and the specific ruling of the Italian Data Protection Authority referred to above.
